The space
Located in The Factory––part of Watershed Community Development’s Equinox Studios in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood––Base’s 2,000 square foot space has a sprung floor, 20-foot-high ceiling, light and sound systems, natural light, soft goods, a private bathroom and kitchenette. Base is not an air conditioned space. Because we share a building with other artists and fabricators, there is often industrial noise elsewhere in the building.
The space is flexible and can be configured in a variety of ways with risers, seating and Marley floor available on request. Audience capacity is 92. Download our ground plan with rep plot and tech inventory to learn more about Base’s technical capacities. Learn how to rent Base hourly for rehearsals or explore our affordable Base Independent and Access Base programs for self-produced shows.
Accessibility: The Factory has a ramped entrance located at the north end of the building. Once inside the Factory, Base is accessible by ramp through our front doors. Our tech booth is not wheelchair accessible. Base has one wheelchair accessible, single stall restroom. The Factory has two gender neutral multi-stall restrooms and two wheelchair accessible single stall restrooms.
Public transit and parking: Base is accessible via the 124, 131 and 132 bus lines. From the 131 and 132 bus stop on 4th and Michigan, it’s approximately 5-10 minutes to Base. Using the 60 and 124 bus lines, Base is about 15-20 minutes from the bus stop on Corson Ave S and S Warsaw St. There is free parking all around Equinox Studios on 5th Avenue South (about a 3-4 block stretch). If a parking slot is not marked as restricted, you are free to park there.
