Self-produce a new work. Create your own residency. Shoot or screen a film. The Base Independent program allows independent artists and groups to rent Base for one-day, three-day and one-week periods—and even longer on a case by case basis. Join the dozens of local and out-of-town innovators who have brought their visions to life at Base over the last eight years—like Feast Theatre, Alia Swersky, Marion Spencer, Club Shamoun and many others.

Because affordable space is hard to come by in Seattle, Base Independent rates are intentionally low: $500/day, $1,300/three days and $2,250/week. The Base Independent program is not a curated series; inquiries are processed on a first come, first served basis.

A new offshoot of the Base Independent, Access Base offers two windows of dates each year at even lower rates. Access Base inquiries are now open for Spring 2025 rentals. Access Base inquiries for Spring 2025 rentals will be accepted until December 15, 2024. Learn more about Access Base and submit here.
